iRest massage chair review: strengths, trade-offs, buyer experience

Before spending several thousand euros on a massage chair, you want to know how it behaves in daily life, not just the spec sheet. This review covers what really separates the iRest classes and which questions are worth answering before the purchase, not after.

Compact class (€1,390–2,970)

QL, Roomy, EasyQ, Chillin and R-Pass suit smaller homes and first-time buyers. 2D or 3D mechanisms, shorter tracks, simple controls. Note: the compact body means a narrower seat — taller users (over ~185 cm) are usually more comfortable in the Premium class.

Premium class (€2,570–6,290)

Ixpirio, Supearl, Queentri, Grandease and Brillactiq — the most common choice for homes. Full SL back tracks, zero-gravity position, air-cushion leg massage, heating. The usual hesitation is space: a reclined chair needs more room than it seems, so each model page lists exact reclined dimensions.

Flagships (€6,970–11,970)

Eagleton, Maesthron and Dual Core V8 bring the massage closest to a therapist's hands. Maesthron has two mechanisms, AI body scanning and the split iOpen track. At €35–50 per therapist session, the difference between Premium and flagship pays back within a couple of years of regular use.

Across all classes: quiet operation, controls that need no manual, full-body programs — and warranty with local service, which matters more than any spec line.

Honest reasons to hesitate

A massage chair does not replace a doctor — acute pain, hernias or osteoporosis call for a specialist first. It also does not help those who stop using it; ask yourself honestly whether massage will become routine. And it takes space — plan it as furniture, not an accessory.
